Today I met and shook hands with Kate Wilhelm. She also signed some books for me. I very much liked this sweet lady and thanked her for making the trip to Portland to meet us. She wrote sci-fi for many years and was married to the late Damon Knight. Kate has written a lot of mystery novels of late. She says Rome is her favorite city ( Read more... )

The Oregon science fiction convention has begun. We arrived at the downtown hotel shortly after the dinner hour. It was nice to check in before the big lines of a typical Saturday morning.
